Are you looking for a colour scheme that's feminine and sophisticated but a little bit different to the norm? Then why not try decorating with earthy tones - golds, ambers, ochres - traditionally seen also as warm autumn tones but why not use them all year round. I'm sure your friends and family will love them too.
As promised, here is our next instalment of the Room to Decorate Christmas gift guide, but this time we are focusing on white and timber accents. Here is a selection of neutral toned classic pieces which would suit any decor, and each item would make a lovely gift for your special someone.
I am not sure why, but for the past few months I have been loving a MONOCHROME pallet. The neutrality of such a pallet as largely dictated the colour choice of a number of homewares in our online store. For this reason I have broken this gift guide up into two parts - one focusing on black and charcoal greys, with the second post focusing on white with timber accents.
The selected homewares in these gift guides are perfect for decorating your kitchen, dining, living room and bedroom, but most importantly, they are all in stock so and can easily be purchased as a fabulous gift to give someone special (or to treat yourself).
I can't help but love black and white for Christmas this year. Everytime I see a photo of someone's living room with that theme it gives me goose bumps and goes so well with a scandinavian theme. "Black and white" is so classic and easy to do well I think - I would like to definitely give it a try next year!!
Below are a few of my favourite photos for a Scandinavian inspired "Black and White" Christmas theme -

I was recently asked to develop a list of Christmas gift ideas from our online shop - Room to Decorate - so I thought, why not share this list with the rest of you who are still looking for ideas for what to buy people for Christmas.
Hi all, I just wanted to share that Room to Decorate got a special mention on the blog "My Scandinavian Home" the other day.
